Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1: Nairobi – Masai Mara National Reserve

Depart from Nairobi early in the morning and drive through the Great Rift Valley with scenic stopovers for photography. Arrive at the famous Masai Mara National Reserve in time for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy your first game drive across the endless plains where you may spot lions, elephants, giraffes, and other wildlife. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge or camp.

Day 2: Full-Day Game Drive in Masai Mara

Spend the entire day exploring the reserve with morning and afternoon game drives. The Masai Mara is one of the best places in Africa to see the Big Five and large predator action. You may also witness the Great Migration (seasonal, July–October). Picnic lunch will be served inside the park while enjoying wildlife views. Return to your lodge or camp in the evening for dinner and relaxation.

Day 3: Masai Mara – Nairobi

Best Time to Visit Masai Mara

The best time to visit the Masai Mara National Reserve is during the dry seasons, especially from July to October, when wildlife viewing is at its peak and the Great Wildebeest Migration occurs. During this period, large herds of wildebeests, zebras, and gazelles move into the Mara, attracting predators such as lions, cheetahs, and crocodiles, making game drives very exciting. Another excellent period is January to February, when the weather is dry and clear, allowing easy wildlife spotting and great photography opportunities. The rainy seasons, from March to May and November to December, offer fewer tourists, greener landscapes, and lower safari costs, although some areas may be harder to access due to muddy roads.
