Why Choose a 12-Day Mount Meru and Kilimanjaro Climbing Tour?
A 12-day Mount Meru and Kilimanjaro climbing tour is perfect for travelers looking to experience two of Tanzania’s most iconic mountains in one adventure. Starting with Mount Meru provides an opportunity to enjoy scenic trekking and gain valuable high-altitude experience before taking on Mount Kilimanjaro.
Best Time for a 12-Day Mount Meru and Kilimanjaro Climbing Tour
The best time for a 12-day Mount Meru and Kilimanjaro climbing tour is generally during Tanzania’s dry seasons from June to October and January to early March. These months usually provide drier trails, clearer skies, and favorable conditions for mountain climbing.
June to October is a popular period for both Mount Meru and Kilimanjaro, offering generally stable weather and excellent mountain visibility. January and February are also favorable months, with relatively warm conditions and good opportunities for clear summit views.
Although climbing is possible throughout the year, the long rains from March to May and the short rains around November can make trails wetter and more challenging. For travelers seeking the best balance of weather, trail conditions, and visibility, the dry seasons are generally the preferred choice.
